Why Teens Need So Much Sleep

Why do teens need so much sleep?  The main reason is because during puberty your biological clock changes to accommodate later wake up and sleep times, which is why teens tend to sleep in so much later than when they were younger.  Another reason is because a teen’s body is growing and developing faster than ever before. 


Lack of a proper amount of sleep can inhibit your ability to learn, and may cause anxiety and stress, which can also lead to feelings of aggression.  You can avoid all of that by maintaining a regular sleep schedule and getting about 9-10 hours of sleep at night, in addition to eating healthy and staying hydrated throughout the day.
