We all know someone who has or is currently going through the dilemma of getting children to try new foods.  No matter how hard and stressful it can be, parents have to remember to not give up and make it into a fun, learning, and enjoyable experience.

Why Teens Need So Much Sleep

Why do teens need so much sleep?  The main reason is because during puberty your biological clock changes to accommodate later wake up and sleep times, which is why teens tend to sleep in so much later than when they were younger.  Another reason is because a teen’s body is growing and developing faster than ever before.

Patience is a virtue in which most of us parents do not possess.  As we get older, our patience tends to take different forms.  It changes because we know that we no longer have to tolerate the things that we once did as children.

The holidays are such a wonderful time to be together with friends and families in celebration, gratitude, and the spirit of giving.  I love the smells that fill the air with the cool scent of the fir tree and the home baked goodies in the oven, along with the warm glow of the candles and the fire in the hearth.

Teen Talk: Fun Times in the Fall

Fall is probably one of the most festive and exciting times of the year! There is so much going on, from the leaves changing color to all the fun activities going on around Halloween.

One of my favorite things to do during fall is going to the pumpkin patch. There is so much to do there: corn mazes, petting zoos, and picking your own pumpkin that you can carve designs into. Then when you’re done you can make pumpkin pie and roasted pumpkin seeds, which are always delicious.

Happy Fall!

Summertime is a great time for produce. But rather than going to your local grocery store to purchase berries that were shipped from hundreds of miles away, you can go pick your own at a local farm!
